Since years have passed by and movies, directors and film have increasingly become more technologically advanced and relevance soon drifted to a downward spiral especially for the older generation of people. For most, the Academy Awards were all about keeping the “original” qualities which it made one of the most popular aired shows on television.http://voices.yahoo.com/academy-awards-changes-rule-number-of-8644623.html But that changed as technology and times moves forwards, and relevance soon drifts away.
Studies show, for both older and younger audiences, relevance has changed. A survey was given to eight high school students asking them what they thought of about popular movies we have most heard of. After reading the movies they were asked to leave ones blank for the movies they have never heard of or seen. Results showed that the actually more students left answers blank. http://www.cehshuskyexpress.com/arts-entertainment/2011/02/02/are-the-academy-awards-still-relevant-today/
These statistics shows that the relevance of the Academy Awards is slowly becoming more and more irrelevant as time goes on for the younger and older generations.
